Refund policy

Thirty days, no reason needed

Within thirty days of paying, write to us and we refund the whole amount. You do not have to say why, you do not have to have stopped using it, and we will not send you a survey. It goes back to the card you paid with, and takes as long as your bank takes — usually a few days.

Write to hello@specialvows.com from the address you signed up with, or from any address if you tell us which wedding.

Kate, your wedding plannerKate’s subscription

Every Kate payment gets its own thirty days — the first one and each renewal. If a renewal charged you and you did not mean it to, write within thirty days of that charge and we refund it.

Cancelling stops the next charge. Cancel any time from Settings → Manage subscription. Kate stays until the end of the month or year you have paid for; your wedding and guest app are not touched. Refunding a Kate payment takes Kate away and leaves your guest app as it is.

If you bought Kate for $49 once before October 2, 2026, that was one purchase and the thirty days above applied to it; you keep Kate with no subscription.

Bought in the iPhone app? Apple took that payment, so Apple refunds it: ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. Cancel a Kate subscription bought there in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

If your wedding is called off

Postponed: tell us the new date and we move everything to it. The schedule, the countdown, the seating, the guest list, the photographs — all of it comes with you. There is no charge for this and no limit on how many times. We will extend the photo hosting to match.

Cancelled: we are sorry. If you are inside the thirty days, the paragraph above applies and you get the money back. Outside them, write anyway and tell us what happened — we have refunded people after thirty days for this reason and we expect we will again. It is the one situation where nobody should be arguing about the money.

If it does not work

If the app fails at your wedding, you get your money back. No thirty-day limit. Write to us and tell us what happened — we will want to know regardless, because something failing on the day is the worst thing that can happen to this product and we would rather find out than keep your money.

If it is something we can fix instead, we will fix it free, as many times as you ask, and there is no deadline on that either.

After thirty days, working normally

We do not refund a wedding that happened and worked. By then the app has done the job you bought it for, and the photographs are sitting in it.

If you are unhappy anyway, write. “No” is a real answer and sometimes it is the one you will get, but it will come from a person who read what you said.

The optional extras

The add-ons follow the same thirty days, with one exception that is physical rather than legal: a printed photo book cannot come back once it has gone to print. We will tell you plainly, before you order, when that point is. If the book arrives damaged or wrong, we reprint it.

Your own web address is the other exception. Once the name is registered it cannot be un-bought, so we do not refund it after that — but if we cannot register it, or cannot get it working, you get the whole amount back, and where we could not register it that happens automatically.

Your guests

Guests never pay anything, so there is nothing for them to be refunded. If anyone has ever asked a guest of yours for money in connection with a Special Vows wedding, that was not us — tell us immediately.

How to ask

One email to hello@specialvows.com. Tell us the wedding and, if you feel like it, what went wrong. There is no form.
